The session started on time, with about 40 people in attendance.

Dr. Newby presented an overview of the GIR status, including the document status and an introduction to information retrieval on the Grid.

Dr. Paul Kim of Dongkuk University reviewed his document on experimentation with reconfigurable dynamic virtual organizations for GIR. This document will be submitted for mailing list last call shortly after GGF16..

Lively interaction and discussion about GIR and its relationship to other aspects of Grid and search technology followed, with questions and answers involving audience members.

The session ended on time, with an invitation for attendees to make sure they are on the gir-wg mailing list, and to participate in public comment for Dr. Kim's document.
