This page contains a list of organizations implementing GIR and
a brief description and status of each project.
Arctic Region Supercomputing Center
ARSC at the University of Alaska Fairbanks is working to implement
multisearch technology, addressing the problem of merging result sets
from different search engines. They are working under Apache web
services as well as Globus. Work from ARSC's efforts is part of PI
Gregory Newby's annual contributions to TREC.

Etymon
Etymon is developing prototype GIR software over web services as part of the Sarcomere information retrieval project.

MCNC/CNIDR
CNIDR demonstrated a proof-of-concept GIR implementation
at GGF8 and subsequently. See the release announcement and

Distributed
Aircraft Maintenance Environment (DAME)
DAME implements a subset of the GIR specification
and are developing generic services for a wide range of data sets.
